Drive For Us

High Country Transportation, Inc. provides great driving opportunities for all drivers whether it is as an owner-operator running under our authority, as an owner-operator/small fleet owner running under your own authority or as a company driver. We are not going to tell you big stories about how rich you can get running our freight but you can make a solid living pulling the High Country freight that is put in front of you. Those who work hard can be successful owner-operators and possibly become small fleet owners running freight for our vast network of high quality shippers.

We are looking for a particular type of driver and owner-operator, a professional that is not afraid to run Colorado in the winter or the summer. Our over-the-road business is based upon providing transportation in and out of Colorado, a state that most mediocre drivers do not want to run in the winter. We are looking for the highest skilled/adventurous drivers and owner-operators who thrive on the challenge of Mountain driving and love running the scenic Mountain states. Our name is High Country Transportation and that is where we operate. You can expect to run Wolf Creek and Vail pass on a regular basis. Our main service lane is Dallas-Fort Worth, TX to the Denver, CO metro area (no mountain passes) but the return to trip requires taking loads to Western CO and New Mexico (sometimes CA and UT) for return freight to Texas. Some of that freight goes to the Midwest, Southeast and other areas and some comes right back to Texas. We must have drivers that can run medium, short and long haul to make the rounds work. We run all 48 states but very little Northeast or Florida.

High Country Transportation isn’t going to solve all your problems and we don’t do everything perfectly. We have the same issues as most other trucking companies. We try our best to minimize waiting time and try to only haul freight for quality shippers who value our drivers time as much as we do but there will always be issues no matter how hard we try to avoid them and we are not going to pretend we have fixed all the issues with the trucking business.

Here you will drive well-maintained late model equipment and haul freight for the top shippers in America all while being known for who you are and not your truck number. We work with people, not with numbers at High Country and while we don’t do everything perfect, we try to work together with you as a person to hit your home time while still getting you the miles to make a living. The trucks have to roll to make money but drivers have to get home to spend time with their families and we work as best as we can to make the two work together. Drivers in our power lanes (Dallas-Fort Worth, Phoenix, Amarillo, Denver, Albuquerque, El Paso, Southwest Colorado-Durango/Cortez, Northwest New Mexico-Farmington) get through the house often but we will hire drivers from most states in the Southwest, Midwest, Upper Midwest and Southeast (except FL) and Mid-Atlantic.
